For normal everyday washing here’s a good guideline:

DIRECTIONS
Small load – 1 to 2 oz of detergent
Medium load – 2 to 4 oz of detergent
Large load – 4+ oz of detergent as desired

We make a detergent made from organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, potassium hydroxide for saponification (none remains after saponification), organic cocoa seed butter, kukui nut seed oil, citric acid which is tough on stains but not your clothes, and vitamin E.

We use sodium bicarbonate because it is a natural fabric softener. It also removes stains, brightens clothes, balances PH (stops itching from doing laundry), neutralizes odors, softens wash water so you can use less of our detergent, and makes our laundry more effective cleaner.

We add all-natural Super Washing Soda to increase cleaning and freshening power that will remedy those stubborn stains and greasy soils that need special handling. Our Washing Soda overtakes calcium and magnesium ions in the water, which prevents dirt from binding to the fabric in your clothes. Our adding this, means you can use less than our recommended amount of detergent, allowing you to order less and save more money.

We use All Natural Borax- salt that is found naturally in evaporation lakes with the most commercially important deposits found in Boron, Calif. All Natural Borax will do all kinds of wonderful things to keep your white things white, your laundry, and your washing machine odor-free. Think of borax as a maintenance product that will keep white things white. Paired with chlorine bleach, it turbo charges bleach’s whitening power. But even if you don’t like to use bleach, it is still a whitener on its own.

The rinse cycle of your washing machine is supposed to remove all of the detergent, soap, bleach and of course the dirt from the washed items. But that doesn’t always happen, especially if you have hard water. The result? A build-up of soap and laundry products in washed clothes and linens. You will know that when your towels come out scratchy and stiff. Your whites turn a dingy shade of gray. Borax keeps the soap dispersed—not stuck or clinging to the fabric fibers. That means it is more likely to easily flow down the drain with the rinse water.

Borax attacks both mold and fungi. Those are the culprits that make your clothes and the inside of your washer give off a stinky, musty smell. Borax also gets rid of body, baby, workout clothes and sick room odors in clothing and linens. Borax inhibits the enzymes that produce those bad odors.

We use Kosher Sea Salt that further softens water, boosts cleaning power, and performs as a mild fabric softener.
